If you really want to know what gujarati swaminarayan is all about, then you’re at the right place.

For all those who may think, I’m being negative by writing post about swaminarayan, then that is not the intent; intent is guide ourselves towards self realization and not get tangled in any samprady. But don’t let me fool you, I’m not a saint, I don’t belong to any sampraday. I seek truth and present truth. After all, सत्यं शिवम् सुंदरम.

My Past

As a kid, I used to attend one of the sampraday’s bal sabha; and instructor said in the sabha that swaminarayan is an incarnation of Lord Krishna, and I was amused by the answer. I knew Krishna is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, so how could swaminarayan be an incarnation of Krishna? I found out that swaminarayan was on earth around early 18th century, and he wrote shiksapatri. Then, I read shikshapatri written by swaminarayan and very first slok stated below.

वामे यस्य स्थिता राधा श्रीश्च यस्यास्ति वक्षसि ।
वृन्दावनविहारं तं श्रीकृष्णं हृदि चिन्तये ॥ 1॥

Translation: With all My heart, I meditate on Shree Krishna, who resides in the divine abode Vrindavan; with Radha on his left and Shree residing within his heart.

Some of the followers often argue that swaminarayan wrote first line as ‘mangla charan’, but ‘mangla charan’ don’t continue till half of the shikhsapatri.

स श्रीकृष्णः परंब्रह्म भगवान् पुरुषोत्तमः ।
उपास्य इष्टदेवो नः सर्वाविर्भावकारणम् ॥ 108॥

Translation: The Lord, Shree Krishna is the greatest entity. I admire Him the most. He is the cause of all incarnations and is thus truly worthy to be worshipped. 

Misleading Sampradays

In 21st century when it is close to impossible to find a saint to call a ‘guru‘; many different swaminarayan sampradays have flourished, but let’s not forget Raavan disguised himself as a saint to kidnap Seeta. All of the swaminarayan sampradays have their leading saint and all of them fly in private jets and rides in Rolls Royce,  So how could these saints so attached to materialistic world will lead people to self-realization? Even though swaminarayan said in shikhsapatri slok 108 that Krishna is Purshottam, but is any sampraday follow what swaminarayan said? BAPS has listed Krishna as a dev in many of their temple and considered their own god as Purshottam.

In 18th and 19th century, India gave many gems to remember for centuries; some of them include: Swami RamKrishna, Swami Vivekananda, J. KrisnaMurti, Vinoba Bhave, Swami Prabupad, Acharchya Shri Ram Sharma, LokManya Tilak, Pandurang Aathvale, Mahrshi Arvind; none of the above listed people ever mentioned gujarati swaminarayan in their work.

Why this site? 

I was proactive on main social media site. I often used to express my ideas and thoughts in Wikipedia, but my edits where deleted very next day. Out of all frustration, I created this site to bring awareness to the people, and to educate to not divide Hinduism.

Again, main intent of this site to bring awareness to the people. Site is not meant to be negative. If I have hurt somebody’s feeling, then ask for forgiveness.
